How to Allow Apps Through Controlled Folder Access

Controlled folder access helps you protect valuable data from malicious apps and threats, such as ransomware. It is included with Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows Server 2019. It is also included as part of the modern, unified solution for Windows Server 2012R2 and 2016.

You can allow apps using the below methods;

Step 1

First of all, open the Windows 11 search and type in Windows Security. Open Windows Security from the list.

On Windows Security, click on the Virus & threat protection option.

Step 3

Now scroll down and click on the Manage Settings link under the Virus & threat protection settings.

Step 4

On the next screen, click on the ‘Manage Controlled Folder Access’ link.

On the next screen, click on the Allow an app through the link.

Step 6

Now, you need to click on the (+ Add an allowed app) and select the program you want to allow.
